Lumpectomy
Lumpectomy is available through SUNY Downstate's Transparent Access Plan at a published cash price, paid when you book.
Lumpectomy, also known as breast-conserving surgery or partial mastectomy, is a surgical procedure performed to remove a localized area of abnormal or cancerous breast tissue while preserving as much of the healthy breast tissue as possible. This is commonly done as a treatment for breast cancer. Lumpectomy aims to excise the tumor and a margin of surrounding healthy tissue, allowing the patient to retain the majority of their breast. It is often followed by radiation therapy to ensure that any remaining cancer cells are eradicated. Lumpectomy is an alternative to mastectomy, in which the entire breast is removed.| Explore Comprehensive General Surgery Services with Mishe's Expert Providers.
