Dr. Tan was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. She finished medical school at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine through the Integrated Liberal Arts-Medicine program (Intarmed), a prestigious 7-year accelerated program that admits forty high school applicants from the top qualifiers of the University of the Philippines’ entrance exam.
